Functional test of electric cross-hatch tester
The electric cross-hatch tester is used to conduct various scratch and engraving tests on paint and coating surfaces to determine the adhesion performance of paint and coatings.
As a modern technology enterprise integrating R&D, manufacturing, sales, training, and service, Standard Group (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. is committed to delivering more testing instruments to the market, providing testing instruments for textiles, leather, combustion, automotive interior and exterior trims, material environmental climate aging, etc., and non-standard customization is also acceptable. Before purchase, targeted tests can be carried out according to customer requirements to ensure that the purchased instrument is suitable.
Technical features:
1. 2 engraving speeds and 2 engraving lengths can be combined as required.
2. 9 pre-set cross engravings, which meet most of the standards used.
3. 1 free program controls the cross-engraving mode to meet special needs.
4. The engraving distance is set by a stepper motor.
5. There will be a display when the engraving passes through the insulating layer to the metal base layer.
6. Rapid clamping device with a wide clamping range.
Technical parameters:
1. Instrument power supply: 115/230 VAC, 50/60Hz (please specify voltage when ordering)
2. Equipment power: 400W
3. Test piece specifications: 80×50mm
4. Sample thickness: 0.5~20mm
5. Standard load range: 2~50N (2N increments)
6. Special load range: 1~10N (1N increments) must be used with optional accessories)
7. Scratching path: 25 or 40mm
8. Scratching speed: 1m/min or 40mm/s Functional test:
Cross-scratching test:
Scratching tests can be performed according to general standards without additional procedures. The following cross-scratching methods can be selected (number of scratching knives x knife distance in mm). 2x5, 6x1, 6x2, 6x3, 8x1, 8x2, 11x1, 11x2.
Scratching is done automatically and continuously with a hard metal tip at a speed of 40 mm/s. The test piece is rotated 90° and the cross-scratching is repeated. The load requirement for the scratch to the substrate can be found in the test.
For some standards, the scratch analysis requires peeling with adhesive tape. Adhesive tape is also supplied to customers as an accessory to meet the requirements of EN ISO 2409 (tape width 25 mm, adhesion 10 ± 1 N). The scope of supply includes a 2.5x magnifying glass for evaluating the scratch. The appearance quality can be visually compared with a standard scale (scratching gauge) in most standards.
Although adhesion tests using the scratching method can be compared with each other, they are not suitable for comparison with the results of other test methods (e.g. vertical friction test EN 24624) because they are different processes.
Scratch test:
For the scratch test in accordance with GME 60280, a blade of φ1 mm is selected with a pre-grid spacing (20 blades, 2 mm apart). The pressure is the same as the scratch test, 5N, and the speed is 1m/min.
When analyzing the scratch resistance test, the brightness difference compared with the undamaged plastic surface is ≤L. The illumination light source D65 the measurement geometry angle d/8 and the measurement hole φ27mm can meet this requirement.
