Oscillatory Valspar Abrasion Tester Operation Steps

Oscillatory Valspar abrasion tester detects the wear resistance of fabrics to standard friction media or curved surface friction motion such as metal mesh. It is particularly suitable for abrasion resistance testing of textiles for automotive decoration and furniture. The instrument complies with US standards and has four friction heads and an electronic counter to control the operating cycle.

Test principle:

The long strip sample fabric is installed on the front and rear clamps of the friction head, and a certain tension is applied. The friction medium is installed on the arc-shaped friction table so that the sample contacts the friction medium, and a certain load is applied to the sample. The friction table swings back and forth to rub the sample. After a certain number of frictions, the tear strength of the sample is evaluated.

Operation steps:

1. Take four long strip samples according to the standard requirements.

2. Open the protective cover, pull open the positioning handle, lift the sample holder, insert both ends of the sample into the sample clamp, adjust the sample clamping nut, and clamp the sample.

3. Lower the sample holder and insert the positioning handle into the positioning hole.

4. Adjust the tension balance adjustment nut and the pressure balance adjustment nut to keep the tension crossbar and the pressure crossbar horizontal.

5. Close the protective cover (the machine will not move when the protective cover is not closed) and turn on the power switch of the machine.

6. Set the number of samples and adjust the speed knob to the specified speed.

7. Press the start switch to start the test.

8. After reaching the specified number of tests, the machine automatically stops, removes the sample, and determines the test results according to relevant standards.

9. After the sample is completed, turn off the power.
