Test principle and operation steps of artificial board scratch tester
The artificial board scratch tester is used to test and evaluate the shear, scratch, planing, scraping, and engraving resistance of materials such as anodized materials, rigid organic materials, powder coatings, soft metals, plastics, glass, and coating adhesives.
Shanghai Qianshi Precision Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2012. It focuses on the research and development, design, and production of textile testing instruments, and provides textile testing instruments and services for academic research units and testing institutions. Shanghai Qianshi is one of the most competitive R&D textile testing instrument manufacturers in China. The R&D team is composed of a group of experienced engineers. We are committed to serving customers wholeheartedly and striving to promote technological innovation in textile testing instruments.
Test principle:
Fix the metal test plate coated with a single coating or a composite coating on the working platform of the instrument. During the test, the working platform pulls the test plate to move slowly at a speed of 30-40mm/s. At the same time, the hemispherical stylus loaded with a certain load slowly scratches the coating surface in the opposite direction. If the stylus scratches the coating, the stylus and the test plate will show conductivity. The test result is evaluated by the maximum load of whether the scratching needle scratches the coating or not under a certain load.
Operation steps:
Before loading the sample, you need to adjust the scale bar to a suitable height according to the sample thickness. Install the precision cutting tool on the scale bar and place it on the sample. Start the instrument and the turntable rotates at a constant speed to ensure accurate measurement results. By changing the load of the cutting tool, you can evaluate the shear or scratch resistance of the material.
The scale bar of the instrument is designed so that it can be level with the sample and the turntable, and can be raised or lowered according to actual needs. In addition, the scale bar can be lifted and suspended in the air to facilitate the operator to remove the sample. By changing the position of the sliding weight, the total load on the sample can be adjusted in the range of 0-1000g. The cutting tool can be selected to use a tungsten carbide drill bit or a conical drill bit.
The test results can be visually judged with a 10x magnifying glass provided randomly, or the user can use a high-precision optical microscope for observation.
