Battery combustion test machine test description

The battery combustion tester is a test equipment independently developed and produced by our company Shanghai Panbiao Textile Testing Technology Co., Ltd. It has high cost performance and is suitable for lithium battery (or battery pack) flammability test. It is a test equipment independently developed and produced by our company.

Based on standards:

GB 31241-2014 "Safety Requirements for Lithium-ion Batteries and Battery Packs for Portable Electronic Products"

UL 1642 "Lithium Battery Standard (Safety)"

UL 2054 "Safety Standard (Lithium Battery)"

Experimental instructions:

1. Place the test lithium battery or battery pack on a wire mesh, which is located on a round hole with a diameter of 102mm (4 inches). The wire mesh is composed of 20 mesh steel wires per inch, and the wire diameter is 0.017 inches (0.43mm).

2. The wire mesh is placed about 38mm above the flame.

3. Cover the sample with an octagonal aluminum mesh. The specifications of the aluminum mesh are: the distance between the two parallel sides is (610±10) mm, and the height is (305±5) mm. The specifications of the aluminum mesh are: the diameter of the aluminum wire is 0.25 mm, and the mesh number is 16~18

4. Ensure that the test sample is heated on the steel wire mesh until it explodes or the lithium battery (battery pack) is ignited and burned out.

5. Test results: After the test, the components of the battery (except for dust-like products) or the battery as a whole shall not penetrate the aluminum mesh.
