Carpet Dynamic Load Tester

Instrument Features
- Provide information on the reduction in the thickness of carpet pile
- Imitate the pressure and shearing effects generated by walking
- Adopt British and international standard testing methods
Product Details
This instrument is also known as a dynamic load machine. It provides information on the reduction in the thickness of carpet pile by imitating the shearing effects of two actions: the pressure during walking and that from the edges of shoes.
Testing Method
The load has two rectangular steel feet with dimensions of 51 mm×6.3 mm and a height of 9.5 mm. The load is lifted by a cam through a cantilever mounted on a pivot and is made to perform a free - fall motion at a controllable height above the carpet sample every five seconds. The steel plate holding the sample moves slowly and continuously back and forth so that the metal plate moves 3.2 mm each time the load falls. There is a semi - overlapping area for each impact. Twenty - five impacts form a complete back - and - forth movement, creating a stressed area that is 90 mm long and 50 mm wide.
