How to use the water-cooled xenon lamp aging tester
As a key equipment for material durability testing, the water-cooled xenon lamp aging tester can only achieve its maximum performance if used correctly.
Preliminary preparation:
First, select suitable samples according to the test requirements. Ensure that the sample size meets the specifications of the test machine sample rack. Irregularly shaped samples need to be properly fixed to prevent displacement during the test. At the same time, check whether the sample surface is clean and flat to avoid affecting the uniformity of light and test results. Secondly, fully debug the test machine. Check the water cooling system to ensure that the circulating water circuit is unobstructed, the water level in the water tank is normal, the coolant is sufficient and the heat dissipation device is operating well to avoid overheating and damage of the xenon lamp during the test. The light intensity of the xenon lamp must also be calibrated to meet the preset experimental standards, which is usually done with the help of a professional light intensity detector.
Parameter setting:
The operator needs to accurately set various parameters in the control system according to the test standards or simulated environment requirements. Light exposure time is one of the key parameters. For example, to simulate outdoor light aging for one year, the test machine operating time must be converted according to the local annual average light exposure time. The light intensity should simulate the specific ambient light intensity, such as the strong light in the equatorial region and the soft sunlight in the temperate zone, which have different intensities. Temperature control should not be ignored. Combined with the actual ambient temperature fluctuation range, the temperature cycle curve in the test chamber is set to let the sample experience temperature changes like day and night and seasonal changes. In addition, humidity parameters can be set as needed to create humid or dry aging conditions.
Test operation and monitoring:
Place the prepared samples stably on the sample rack and start the test machine. During the test, use the monitoring system built into the equipment to observe in real time. On the one hand, pay attention to whether the light intensity fluctuates. If there is a deviation, adjust it in time to ensure stable irradiation; on the other hand, pay attention to changes in temperature and humidity, and compare them with the set curve to prevent abnormal fluctuations from interfering with the test. Check the water temperature and water pressure of the water cooling system regularly to ensure normal heat dissipation. Once an equipment fault alarm is found, stop the machine immediately for troubleshooting, record the fault information, and retest after repair to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Only by mastering the correct usage process of the water-cooled xenon lamp aging tester can scientific researchers and quality inspectors obtain reliable material aging data through it, laying a solid foundation for product development and quality control.
